Today we would like to point out a question that asked a lot from our customers and that is Will adding a T3 void my vehicle’s warranty?
And the answer is NO, it will NOT VOID YOUR WARRANTY.
From time to time, we receive calls from our customers stating that they are being warned by their auto shop that if a T3 is installed in their vehicle, their warranty will be voided. We want you to know that by law, any properly installed and functioning aftermarket system, including a security or remote start system, will not void a vehicle’s warranty. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Improvement Act, signed into law in 1975, was needed to protect consumers from car dealerships that were demanding that only their authorized parts and labor were covered under warranty, any other parts that the dealership deemed unauthorized would void the warranty. (For example, if you replaced your wiper blades with non-authorized blades, then the dealership would void the warranty on the engine and exhaust.) The Act protects your right to have an aftermarket system installed without your warranty being voided. Keep in mind, if you start tearing up wiring and drilling holes that aren’t necessary for the installation of an aftermarket system, you could have warranty issues with your dealership. That’s why you should always seek professional installation when installing an aftermarket system to your vehicle. We have already done the work for you, make your life easier by purchasing a T3 from one of our qualified partner dealers.
Tech Tip: When the T3 is in temporary Move Mode, T3 will not send notifications. This mode is used if owner is having the vehicle towed.
